EA Makes Real Attempt To Make Amends Following Real Racing 3 Update Uproar

Photo Credit: Real Racing 3/EA Earlier this month, there was an uproar over the virtual racing app Real Racing 3 as the publisher made some controversial changes during a recent update. Many users complained on social media that aspects relating to the vehicle handling has been altered drastically. As someone who plays Real Racing 3, I concur with the comments there were noticeable changes to the driving dynamics in the game namely more aggressive brake assist and more contentious AI of competitors. Last week, a video link was added to Real Racing 3 related to what is called the R3 Version 4.7 McLaren update.  In the message, a producer for Real Racing 3 described the changes to the game as unintentional saying it was meant to be limited to a specific component of the racing experience that leaked into updated game. Although the producer's comment on the vehicle controls has not been consistent with what is currently experienced, he did acknowledge a change in the AI. Within...

App Review: Real Racing 3 With BMW Generations Challenge Content

In recent months, an app that has received a fair bit of usage through my limited free time is Real Racing 3. An amusing race game experience for a tablet or smartphone, the game has provided some wonderfully rendered digital representations of popular race tracks and automobiles. The list of race cars available on the app currently amounts to 146 spanning the gamut of classes and categories. Real Racing 3's gaming action is also an ever-expanding virtual world. During Daytona Speedweeks, an expanded collection of NASCAR experiences were added to the game. Real Racing 3 also provides a frequent assortment of limited-time challenges allowing users of opportunity to win game currency and even vehicles by accomplishing races on a scale. For April, a Generations Challenge had added a pair of BMWs to the Real Racing 3 platform. Representing an era where car manufacturers competed in auto racing with specially-prepped, limited-production factory vehicles, the BMW 3.0 CSL ha...

Sorry Fellow Canadians, 2015 Mustang Customizer Android App is Not Available

At the beginning of this month, I was captivated by the announcement of a new app worth my attention as a Canadian car enthusiast. May 1st, Ford introduced a revised version of the Mustang Customizer app providing an interactive experience relating to the sixth-generation model of the pony car started the wild rush in the vehicle segment. Having previously dribbled in the desktop version of an earlier version of the Mustang Customizer , I was stoked to try out the latest program. At the time I entered the Google Play, my glee was quickly deflated as I eventually found out the new Mustang Customizer app was not available in my country. The app was released on Android and Apple IOS devices. Since I run an Android tablet, I am not aware if the regional restriction applies to Apple devices. As a Canadian, I don't know how I am supposed to feel after finding out I can't even download the Mustang Customizer app. I recall Canada is the first international market where...

Hot Wheels Available in Crazy Taxi Rush App

Back in the 1990s, video game company Sega created a stir in the driving game genre with the introduction of Crazy Taxi. Debuting in 1999 within the decades that were slowly being shuttered due to the growth of home video gaming, Crazy Taxi had players rushing around the virtual city of San Francisco collecting fares. The main object of each mission has been to deliver passengers to their destination in an allotted time. Making the original Crazy Taxi video game experience memorable was the California surfer-themed visuals, extreme game physics and the accompaniment of music from bands like 'The Offspring' as you rolled through the city. Being a big fan of the Crazy Taxi franchise from the start, I was overjoyed when I found the Crazy Taxi Rush Android app within the Google Play marketplace. Even though the control setup of the app is different than the arcade game and the route maps can get repetitive, the Crazy Taxi Rush app has been a favourite...
