An show put together by students of the automotive sales and marketing programs, the outdoor exhibition carries its own unique charm. Not as flashy as the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto, the vivid collection of vehicles organized by students still represents the majority of auto manufacturers producing automobiles for the North American market in a positive light. Instead of the beaming of fluorescents and large turntables, the campus' field and the warmth of a natural, cooperative early June sunlight is all that is needed to bring out beauty on four wheels. Ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there has been no shortage of cross-promotional tie-ins to the upcoming movie. In some cases, the marketing has been far-reaching in some instances. This weekend signifies another unusual promotional move as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) US will unleash a dark side-driven invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. Patrolling the Los Angeles area from December 11th to December 14th, First Order Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren will be represented by some high-powered performance cars. Consisting of three individual vehicles, the roaming group will be led by a black Dodge Viper ACR resembling one of the main villains in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Plenty of classic and collectable cars were purchased at the recently-concluded 2014 Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Las Vegas. Selling everything from a Lamborghini Aventador to a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle, the three-day auction involved a vehicle suiting almost any taste going to a new home (With Barrett-Jackson collecting a healthy commission, of course). As always, American muscle car performance has driven the bidding to new heights. While past auctions had classic muscle attracting some high bids, this year's Las Vegas sale was topped by a brand-new model using 21st century technology to push performance to previously unmet plateaus for a production Mopar.
