Primetime for Cadillac: 2016 CT6 Flagship Sedan is New Plateau for American Luxury

It has probably been decades since the Cadillac nameplate's presence on a large sedan meant world-class luxury. The large luxury sport utility Escalade allowed Cadillac to once again be seen as a mammoth showcase of the brand's premium taste but their flagship business has not seen the same level of enthusiasm. Part of complete revitalization of their business that included a brand-new line-up of vehicles and a new corporate headquarters located within New York City, Cadillac pledged to define the upper echelons of motoring with an all-new sedan for 2016. At the 2015 New York International Auto Show, the CT6's introduction is a big and bold presentation to the world that Cadillac is ready to take back its luxury crown with force. The Cadillac CT6 had been billed as a six-digit priced super luxury sedan. From what is visible with its introduction at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, the car seems like a replacement to the XTS. ...

The V for Velocity: Cadillac's New 455-Horsepower ATS-V

Since the Cadillac ATS premiered, many of us have been awaiting the addition of one letter to the model nameplate. As Cadillac billed their latest vehicle as a BMW 3-Series fighter, we've eagerly wanted to see the American luxury brand attempt to match wits with the M3. Almost two years since the global introduction of the ATS, the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V appears on paper to be the compact performance car meant to give the BMW M3 a kick in lederhosen. To be offered in both the sedan and coupe body style, the 2016 ATS-V is Cadillac's first use of a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine in their V-Series performance line. A similar 3.6-liter displacement powerplant as the one offered on the CTS Vsport model , the  Cadillac Twin Turbo engine has been specially tailored for the ATS-V to produce 455 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Low-inertia turbochargers equipped with lightweight titanium-aluminide turbines that reduces the amount lost energ...

Cadillac Chooses to Name Forthcoming Flagship CT6

It has become self-evident by recent news that Cadillac is seeking to magnify their presence as a distinct luxury brand. One of the measure announced this week will consist of physically separating itself from the General Motors mothership. Intent on being recognized as a more cosmopolitan American marque, Cadillac's head offices will be moving from Detroit to New York City for 2015 becoming a separate business unit in the process. This arrangement will likely resemble Tata Motors’ ownership of the Jaguar Land Rover. Before Cadillac's relocation and restructuring news, the luxury carmaker created buzz last week as General Motors confirmed there is an additional product in the pipeline. A rear-wheel drive ultra-luxury sedan to be built with its own unique platform was announced for production for late 2015. Left nameless during the product’s official announcement, Cadillac has now given their future flagship its model name. On Wednesday, Cadillac declared their ne...

Cadillac Confirms Super Luxury Car in the Pipeline for 2016 Release

For years, it was rumoured that Cadillac wanted to build a super luxury sedan. A car built to feature the very peak of Cadillac's American-derived pursuit for lavish motoring, the proposed vehicle would likely be found with a six-figure price tag and face rivals like Mercedes-Benz and BMW head-on in the top-tier four-door market. More than a decade ago, the Cadillac Sixteen concept car teased the world for what a car from the General Motors premium brand may look like. Despite the intrigue to the idea, the plan has been nothing but a fairy tale story; that is until this week when General Motors delivered a major announcement regarding future vehicle production. On Friday, General Motors formally declared that a new high-end Cadillac will become an addition to the luxury vehicle line-up for the near future. A rear-wheel drive sedan to be built on unique vehicle architecture, the new car promises to involve "custom-designed materials". Without delivering an...
