The V for Velocity: Cadillac's New 455-Horsepower ATS-V

Since the Cadillac ATS premiered, many of us have been awaiting the addition of one letter to the model nameplate. As Cadillac billed their latest vehicle as a BMW 3-Series fighter, we've eagerly wanted to see the American luxury brand attempt to match wits with the M3. Almost two years since the global introduction of the ATS, the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V appears on paper to be the compact performance car meant to give the BMW M3 a kick in lederhosen. To be offered in both the sedan and coupe body style, the 2016 ATS-V is Cadillac's first use of a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine in their V-Series performance line. A similar 3.6-liter displacement powerplant as the one offered on the CTS Vsport model , the  Cadillac Twin Turbo engine has been specially tailored for the ATS-V to produce 455 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Low-inertia turbochargers equipped with lightweight titanium-aluminide turbines that reduces the amount lost energ...

Sizzling European Derived Scion iM Concept to Premiere at LA Auto Show

Since its introduction in 2002, Toyota's Scion brand has been fighting to gain traction as a hip and popular youth-oriented spectacle. Scion has been devoted in selling small, affordable vehicles while the North American Toyota brand converged itself on the mid-range of the auto sector. However, despite Scion's creative marketing and promises for personalization, the brand has not entirely succeeded in winning over customers. Recent additions of the FR-S and the iQ microcar has made Scion showrooms a more entertaining destination but the novelty of those vehicles appears to be exhausting. Scion sales in Canada following October is down compared to 2013. Division sales in the first 10 months of 2014 is down 18.8 percent compared to the same time last year. In order to reinvigorate the young blood of the Scion brand, a new hatchback concept car will debut at the...

Driving Downtown Dreams: 2014 Motorexpo Toronto Delivers Hot Cars for Summer

Photo source: Chris Nagy Toronto is in the midst of a mayoral election where transit options have dominated the platforms of every candidate. Subways, buses, above ground trams and trains have been pitched so far. However, no matter where public transit will go, car ownership will remain an aspiration for many urban dwellers. Privacy, the ability to command a vehicle towards any desired direction at any time is right the peace of mind a large group of Torontonians are seeking. For selected members of that group, it is possible to envision the grander modes of transportation. Some of those machines of aspirations is present at this week's Motorexpo in Toronto. A focused attendee of the Canadian International AutoShow just down the road, Motorexpo 2014 has been my first quest for another exhibit of automobiles in the Queen City. The fourth time the show took place in Toronto, Motorexpo is a free to the public event hosting a select amount of vehicles at the peak of engine...

Preview for the 2014 Canadian International AutoShow

Photo Credit: Chris Nagy As Canadians, we are once again enduring a challenging winter that has brought all the snow and cold weather we are accustomed to north of the 49th parallel. Skiing, snowmobiling or building a snowman allows many of us to maintain our humour and happiness during this season that always wallops Canada in full force. For automobiles, winter presents a period where our favourite four-wheel conveyance is expected to perform in hostile situations. Left out on frigid driveways or unheated garages, roads covered in snow and/or whatever traction solution our municipality chooses for safety, this is a time of the year where we forget the true beauty of motoring. Maybe in this month of February it is the perfect time to remind ourselves how great the automobile can be. For this reason, the arrival of the 2014 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto is ideal. Opening this Friday in...
