The One of a Kind Ferrari HC25

It’s an unmistakable fact that ownership of a Ferrari instantly bestows a sense of exclusivity. Understanding how any driver almost needs to prove their worth to possess such a vehicle exhibiting masterful Italian performance and design beauty, it’s particularly intriguing to envision a Ferrari being shaped to an owner. Last week’s Ferrari Racing Days event that took place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas served as coming-out party for a one of a kind creation developed to showcase a unique spirit for the Prancing Horse.  


The Ferrari HC25 was constructed by  the sports car company under the commission by an unidentified customer through what the brand describes as their Special Projects programme. This organization exists in Ferrari to specifically tailor their vehicles to the desires of an owner. Built on the basis of the discontinued Ferrari F8 Spider, the HC25’s two-tone, dynamic exterior design definitely asserts a distinct personality. Under the guidance of Flavio Manzoni, the Ferrari Design Studio committed to present the Ferrari HC25 as a balance of the Italian automaker’s current styling language blended with some uniquely distinguishing elements. Proudly expressing itself as a one-off creation, the HC25 retains the identity that defines a Ferrari with its graceful, aerodynamic shape. 


Measuring 4,758 millimeters in overall length (147 millimeters longer than the Ferrari F8 Spider), the mid-rear engined HC25 enlarged presence is categorized greatly for a dual-volume structure. The accomplishment of this design objective is granting the front and rear of the sports car with separate identities with a Moonlight Grey primary colour matched with gloss black secondary pieces providing a farther visual contrast.

A custom headlamp design with vertically-positioned Daytime Running Lights at the front is accompanied by a black band resembling that found on the Ferrari F80 and the 12Cilindri. The rear shape of the HC25 supercar is a complete departure from the F8 Spider with narrow rectangular taillights above expanded air outlets. Larger dual exhaust outlets under reshaped rear bodywork presents a more aggressive stance.

The front and rear bodywork of the Ferrari HC25 are married together in the final exterior by a conspicuous band. The boomerang-shaped black ribbon flows up the side serving to adding extra emphasis to the muscular bodywork around the rear wheels. The upper part of this ribbon flows towards the rear where it harmoniously encompasses the visible engine cover. Long milled solid aluminum strips on both sides of the HC25 located within the angular black band serves as the location for the cabin entry door handles. Five-spoke 20-inch wheels with diamond-finished outer rim and yellow brake calipers are final accent touches to the supercar’s design. The use of yellow is carried into interior space of the HC25 where is appears as stitching as well as in a boomerang pattern on the seating.

Providing motion to the Ferrari HC25, the F8 Spider’s 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine is comfortably seated in its rear mid-mounted location. Generating 710 horsepower, the powerplant’s energy is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Ferrari also rewarded the HC25 with its wide host of modern performance aids such as the company’s electronic differential and high performance anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). Top speed potential for the Ferrari F8 Spider installed in the HC25 is unchanged rated at 340 kilometers per hour (211 miles per hour).

The Ferrari HC25 is the latest in a line of one-off bespoke machines created under the guidance of the Italian sports car factory for elite customers. Since Ferrari’s Special Project custom coachbuilder was established in 2008, there has been a varied selection of elegant cars that now populate the world. Early examples include the P540 Superfast Aperta and the Superamerica 45 while one more recent example is the 488 GT3 Evo based KC23.
