Overall Brand Impression:
Steering into the realm of bold German luxury for more than two decades, Audi boasts a sizable assortment of premium automobiles catering to a wide range of motoring personalities. Entry-level luxury for 2024 can be obtained with the A3, the expansive Q line of crossover vehicles presents premium practicality, RS models reveal Audi’s racing heritage and the growing count of e-Tron models show off an electric future for the brand including the Q8 e-tron crossover vehicle line. Despite possessing an expressive 2024 model year lineup, Audi had bid verabschiedung to both the TT and R8 that had both had meritorious roles in shaping the modern perception of the brand.
What’s New for 2024:
At the end of 2023, German luxury brand Audi says goodbye to both the TT and the R8. Introduced in 1998, the Audi TT served as a major styling and technological showcase for the company since its launch as both a coupe and roadster. Audi’s first true supercar with a name borrowed from their massively successful, Le Mans dominating prototype sports car, the R8 road car became the heartthrob of the product lineup immediately at the time of its launch in 2007. The dropping of both iconic performance models comes as Audi is motivated to shift their quattro all-wheel drive performance image into a quattro persona powered by electrified powertrains.
Despite Audi discontinuing two of their dedicated sports cars, there remains no shortage of performance. While plenty of options reside with Audi’s RS tuned models including the 621-horsepower RS6 Avant performance and RS 7 performance vehicles, the brand is acting to convince customers that exciting travel await in their growing electric vehicle lineup. The 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron adds an extra electric motor amounting in a peak power output increase of 94 horsepower and 228 lb.-ft of torque over the Q8 e-tron models. The 496-horsepower SQ8 complements Audi’s existing 637-horsepower RS e-tron GT.
For the remainder of Audi’s 2024 lineup, changes are relatively minor. Adaptive cruise control, Parking plus system, Audi active lane assist as well as heated steering wheel is found standard across the Audi A4 and Audi A5 product range. The majority of 2024 Audi products will arrive with standard remote engine start capabilities through the myAudi mobile app.
Arriving early last year as a 2024 model, the Audi Q8 e-tron serves as a well-engineered electric variant of their luxury crossover vehicle boasting specialized aerodynamic bodywork and wheels. The 2024 Q8 e-tron 114-kWh battery pack allows for a top cruising range of 459 kilometers. Audi’s e-tron lineup officially consists of three distinct fully electric vehicle types (e-tron GT, Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron). Canadian Customers of 2024 Audi e-tron models are presented with complimentary access to the Electrify Canada charging network amounting to either a 4-year term or 1,400 kWh (whichever comes first).
